TG I.D. is an online resource collecting information on how to update legal names, gender markers, and identity documents in Ontario, Canada.
The level of bureaucracy currently in place makes these vital processes fundamentally inaccessible. TG I.D. aims to empower individuals by providing clear and accessible information and resources.
Please note however that this site does not provide legal advice. If you have questions or concerns about any information here, cross-reference the official sources linked at the bottom of each page, and feel free to contact the webmaster. For legal information or resources, we recommend visiting the JusticeTrans website.
The project is run by Dana Rosamund Teagle—a designer and web/software developer based in Tkaronto (Toronto), Ontario.
Since 2021, she has led workshops on name and gender marker changes for a range of organizations and unions, including LGBT YouthLine, Windsor Hackforge, CUPE 3902, and CUPE 3903. To learn more about booking her for in-person or online presentations, please visit our workshops page.
Dana also serves as TG I.D.'s webmaster, maintaining this resource for free in her spare time. If you would like to help support Dana and her work, you can send her a tip via PayPal.
